Better choice for news than tragedy

Of all the news events that happened in 2007, were there none that were more worthy of the front page of the Neighbor section of the Daily Herald than all the crime that occurred this past year? We found the article, "Crime and punishment -- a year in review" (Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007), to be in poor taste. Do we all need to relive those tragic events? How about the victims? Was it not sufficient that they had to live through them once? Must they relive them again?

Perhaps next year, you'll find something more positive to write about and thus end the year on a positive note and not a tragic note.
