Briefs: St. Francis exam Jan. 12
St. Francis High School, 2130 W. Roosevelt Road, Wheaton, is administering its annual entrance exam for all eighth-graders at 8 a.m. Jan. 12. The test fee is $30. Registration is due by Jan. 7. North Aurora lights winners
The North Aurora Lions Club announced the winners of its Christmas home decoration contest. First place was awarded to Christopher Obrochta, of 220 Larchwood Lane. Second place went to Patrick and Lisa Falcone, of 2712 McDuffee Circle, and third place went to Chris Prah, of 217 Wildwood Drive. All three winners competed in the Festive Theme category. The other categories were Religious and Neighborhoods themes. Winners were selected by voting residents of North Aurora. More families participated this year than in the past several years.
Flea market this weekend
The Kane County Flea Market will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Kane County Fairgrounds, Randall Road between routes 38 and 64, St. Charles. Geneva legion offers dinners
The Fox River-Geneva American Legion Post 75 has s family dinners from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays at the post, 22 S. Second St., Geneva. The menu features fish, chicken, shrimp, scallops and chicken tenders from $5.50 to $9. Kids meals are available for $4 for children ages 5 to 10, free for children 4 and younger.
