Oil giants get aid but not the needy
Just in case he missed a few children the first time, Bush has once again plunged his veto dagger into the hearts of the children without health insurance.
He is consistent in his denial of basic necessities to the less fortunate. Recently, he announced he would also veto a bill containing an increase in food stamp money. Again he maintains his consistency of depriving the needy of basic needs.
In Bush's defense though, he has promised to sign an energy bill that contains a continued welfare program for the oil companies.
Since oil failed to reach $100 a barrel, it is understandable that this welfare is absolutely necessary to maintain the executive's standard of living.
It is hard to understand why it is not the responsibility of the oil companies to maintain their supplies. Apparently for the Republican leadership it is just as normal as could be.
The Democrats in Congress aren't much better. They are so worried about getting re-elected that they don't have the guts to call Bush's bluff and do the right thing. Get a political backbone.
