Motorola sues HP in contract dispute

Motorola Inc. is suing long-time partner Hewlett-Packard in a dispute over a multi-million dollar police and fire dispatch system in New York City. The lawsuit, filed Dec. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court, seeks undetermined declaratory and injunctive relief and damages based on breaches of Hewlett-Packard's contractual obligations and improper claim against a $10 million performance bond, Motorola spokesman Chuck Kaiser said Thursday. HP spokespeople were not immediately available.
