Give back to community by recycling
Giving back to the community has become easier than ever.
Now, residents in the McHenry area can recycle their old newspapers, magazines, mail, dated school assignments and office paper -- and it turns into cash for the McHenry Public Library.
Recently, the McHenry Public Library partnered with Abitibi Paper Retriever, a free innovative fundraising initiative that benefits the entire community, to recycle paper into cash.
The Abitibi Paper Retriever program starts by placing a container in a nonprofit, school or church parking lot. Area residents fill the containers with old paper. Abitibi Paper Retriever recycles the paper and gives the host organization cash for the paper collected.
The paper collection bin is at 809 N. Front St., in McHenry.
