No one injured in Lisle fire

A fire displaced a Lisle family from their home, but their Christmas presents are safe, fire officials said.

The fire at 5601 Westview St. began at 5 p.m., said Capt. Keith Stegman of the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District.

Stegman said the fire, which apparently started around the fireplace, caused an estimated $30,000 damage, mainly in the attic, but no one was hurt.

He said the fire was put out in about half an hour. Firefighters were able to throw tarps to protect Christmas presents and furniture, he said.
