Driver hits telephone pole in Warrenville

At least part of Batavia Road was shut down about 7:20 p.m. Friday after the driver of a pickup truck ran into a telephone pole near the intersection of Batavia Road and Williams Road in Warrenville, police said.

The driver, Isrrael Tavizon-Reyes, 24, of Montgomery was cited for driving under the influence, not having a valid driver's license or insurance, disobeying a stop sign, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

His passenger was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
