Thomas right about armed citizens
Kudos to Cal Thomas for his article on the editorial page, "Armed citizen used right to bear arms to save many lives" (Dec. 13.)
He highlighted a side of reporting often passed over in the mainstream news media in covering murders of innocent people by deranged killers: that armed, trained, law-abiding citizens on the scene can and have saved lives.
I would just like to reiterate two statements from his article: 1) "All the gun-control laws passed and those being contemplated could not have had the effect of one-armed, trained and law-abiding citizen on the scene" and 2) "Gun laws will not deter criminals with evil intent and police can't be everywhere they are needed. But killers can be stopped by law-abiding citizens with guns."
Supreme Court, take note.
