Blackhawks recall Barker

Blackhawks GM Dale Tallon announced Thursday that defenseman Cam Barker has been recalled from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.

Barker has appeared in 29 games for Rockford, scoring 8 goals to go along with 11 assists with 67 penalty minutes and a plus-2 rating.

Barker, 21, was the Blackhawks' first-round draft pick (third overall) in 2005. He has appeared in 36 games for the Blackhawks over the past two seasons and has posted 1 goal and 7 assists with 44 penalty minutes.

Defenseman Magnus Johansson has been assigned to the IceHogs. Johansson, 34, is in his first professional season in North America and has appeared in 17 games with the Blackhawks this season, contributing 4 assists while averaging 14:43 in ice time per game. Johansson was signed as a free agent by the Blackhawks on June 4, 2007.
