Give to Christmas toy, book drive

Donations will be accepted through today for the Children's Christmas Toy and Book Drive. New, unwrapped presents can be dropped off at the Bartlett Community Center, 700 S. Bartlett Road.

Holiday activities at Hanover Township

Hanover Township Youth and Family Services will host its free holiday open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today. Take part in crafts, activities and cookie decorating at the Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave., Hanover Park. Kids 12 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Holiday coloring at Hoosier Grove

The Hoosier Grove Museum, 777 Bartlett Road, Streamwood, will host a Holiday Coloring Contest. Prizes will be awarded to one winner in each of the following groups: preschool, kindergarten, first- through third-grades, and fourth- through sixth-grades.

To participate, visit the Hoosier Grove Museum during museum hours, 1 to 4 p.m. Friday to Sunday, and color a picture that a student at the schoolhouse may have colored.
