Briefs: Dist. 203 approves levy
The Naperville Unit District 203 school board approved a $183.4 million property tax levy Monday. The 2007 levy, which will be collected in 2008, is a 4.5 percent increase over last year. However, officials say the actual levy will depend on how much new construction there is in the district and likely will end up being closer to $182.1 million, or 3.8 percent more than 2006. The average Naperville homeowner will see a 2.5 percent increase on the school portion of their property tax bill in the spring, but that could vary depending on how much the assessed value of their home increases.
