Nine arrested in Batavia drug bust
Nine people were arrested in an undercover cocaine bust in Batavia, police announced Thursday.
The three-month investigation in conjunction with the Elgin Police Department culminated with multiple counts against eight adults and one teenager of selling marijuana, cocaine and crack cocaine.
"We're hoping this puts a dent in the circulation of drugs here for a while," Batavia Police Cmdr. Greg Thrun said of Wednesday's arrests.
The people arrested -- from Batavia, North Aurora, Aurora and Bolingbrook -- weren't working together and were arrested at multiple spots in town, Thrun said. Police tried to make their arrests on the same day so as to not alert suspects as to what they're doing before all the arrests were made.
