Baseball

Warren Township Girls: Warren Township Girls Softball will hold 2008 Season Registration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 13 at Warren High School - Almond Campus, 34090 Almond Road, Gurnee. Hockey

Patriots vs. Giants: Stevenson traveled to Northbrook Nov. 14 to skate against the Highland Park Giants in a Metro Conference Junior Varsity hockey game, and defeated the Giants by a 6-0 score. The Giants managed to keep the game close against the 10-and-4 Patriots until late in the second period. The Patriots ended with more than 50 shots on net.

Stevenson's Marc Weiner scored the first goal with 16 seconds left in the first period when he took a faceoff at center ice and skated in alone to score the only goal of the period. Christian Wilhelm extended the lead to 2-0 just 14 seconds into the second period when he received a pass from Myles Lobus and tallied with a quick wrist shot into the upper right hand corner of the goal. The score remained close until the Patriots scored two quick goals -- first Weiner's second goal of the game with an assist to Wilhelm, followed by Justin One's goal to bring the score to 4-0. Brad Levinson and Jake Scott closed out the scoring with 2 goals in the third period.

Wrestling

Winter program: The Jr. Patriot Wrestling Club program for children in third to eighth grade offered at Stevenson High School will teach wrestling fundamentals and instill values of hard work, self-discipline and the importance of goal setting. The season begins in December and ends in March (optional spring workouts will continue March through May). Practices will be held two or three times a week and will last for one or two hours. The team will compete in five to seven tournaments and wrestle against other clubs in head-to-head dual meets. The fee is $260. No prior experience in the sport is required.
