Feeling frazzled? Take time out for holiday humor

Janus Theatre spreads holiday humor with "And Now for Something Completely Janus," its seasonal show opening today at the Elgin Art Showcase, 164 Division St., Elgin. The show runs 8 p.m. Thursdays to Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 23. Tickets cost $10-$15. (847) 931-0637.

Sounds of the season: Smooth jazz guitarist Chris Korblein and saxophonist Steve Cole, a Chicago native and Northwestern University alum, team up for "A Romantic Jazz Christmas" today at the Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way, Elgin. Also at the Hemmens, the a cappella group The Nylons, who scored big with their 1984 remake of Steam's "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye," perform seasonal songs along with classic doo-wop tunes like "Up On the Roof" and "Silhouettes" Dec. 21 at the Hemmens. From the clubs: Platinum-haired Holly and Molly, the "Olly Girls" from the E! Entertainment Television reality show "Sunset Tan," meet and greet fans from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. today at the Alumni Club, 871 E. Algonquin Road, Schaumburg.

If one night of empty-headed patter isn't enough for you, you can join the girls from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday at The Apartment, 2251 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago.
