Briefs: WMS shareholders elect Nazemetz
WAUKEGAN -- WMS Industries Inc. on Thursday announced stockholders elected Patricia M. Nazemetz to serve on its board of directors. They also re-elected all eight of the incumbent director nominees at the Waukegan company's annual shareholders meeting. Nazemetz, 57, is the chief human resources and ethics officer for Xerox Corp.
Nanosphere losses top $26 million
NORTHBROOK -- Molecular diagnostics firm Nanosphere Inc. on Thursday reported a quarterly loss of $26.97 million, versus a loss last year at this time of $4.6 million. Revenue fell by 57 percent, to $199,005. However, Chief Executive Officer William Moffitt noted recent FDA approval of its testing product called the Verigene System as showing promise.
