Naperville woman bitten by pit bull
Citations are pending against the owner of a pit bull terrier that bit a Naperville woman this week.
A 45-year-old woman was walking her dog, a soft-coated wheaten, on the 1800 block of Paxton Drive at about 3:30 p.m. Monday when the pit bull escaped from its fenced-in yard, according to police Cmdr. Dave Hoffman.
"The dog walker attempted to protect her young dog and got bit in the face in the process," Hoffman said.
The woman was taken to Edward Hospital later in the day by a relative. Her injuries are believed to be minor.
The owner of the pit bull is a 40-year-old male living on the 1800 block of Downing Court. Hoffman said citations are pending against him for public nuisance and failure to have a valid rabies vaccination on file for his dog. The dog is being quarantined at its home.
