Meeting on water issues
Lake County and the village of Hawthorn Woods plan to hold a joint public meeting from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today in the village barn at 2 Lagoon Drive. The meeting will give residents served by the Glennshire water system the opportunity to ask questions about two new proposals to replace their 20-well system. According to Lake County, private water provider Aqua Illinois will sell water to either the village or the county at a wholesale rate of $1.80 per 1,000 gallons. A survey will be sent out seeking residents' opinions on the new options.
