Holiday Floatin' Family Fun Night:ŒA holiday Floatin' Family Fun Night will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Park Place Cool Pool. Search for holiday candy canes and jingle bells, receive fun raffle prizes and enjoy holiday music.

Holiday fashion jewelry and ice cream social: A holiday fashion jewelry and ice cream social will be held from 6:30 to 7:40 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Center.
Design a fashion necklace, bracelets, and a zipper pull. Make gifts or matching jewelry to wear over the holiday season. The evening ends with a ice cream sundae buffet.
The registration deadline is Monday. Admission costs $30 per pair ($45 nonresident) for ages 4-11 with an adult. For more information, call (630) 372-PARK, or visit online at streamwoodparkdistrict.org.
Write to Santa:ŒThis year, Santa Claus will once again have a special mailbox placed at the Streamwood Park District. All children who write to Santa will receive a letter directly from the North Pole.
Drop off letters in one of Santa's mailboxes, located at the Community Center and Park Place or mail letters to: Santa Claus c/o Streamwood Park District, 777 Bartlett Road, Streamwood, IL 60107.
Letters will be accepted through Dec. 14 to give Santa enough time to respond. Print names and addresses legibly, so Santa can reply without delay.
Holiday workshops: Get children into the holiday spirit with Christmas workshops at Park Place. Join the Streamwood Park District Dec. 22, starting at 10 a.m., for one, two or all three workshops.
Children will be able to make Christmas cookies, create wrapping paper and Christmas cards, or make ornaments to hang on the tree.
The program is for ages 4-8, and the registration deadline is Dec. 17. For more information or to reserve a spot, call the registration office at (630) 372-PARK, ext. 3025. Ask about the special lunch and $2 savings.
Holiday Coloring Contest: The Hoosier Grove Museum is hosting a Holiday Coloring Contest. Prizes will be awarded to one winner in each of the following groups: preschool, kindergarten, first- through third-graders and fourth- through sixth-graders.
To participate, visit the Hoosier Grove Museum during museum hours, 1 to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and color a picture that a student at the schoolhouse may have colored.
Pictures will be displayed in the schoolhouse for the entire holiday season, and winners will be picked and contacted after the New Year. For more information, call Cindy at (630) 213-9706.
Holiday parties: The Streamwood Park District can help with holiday party planning, whether it's for 50 or 500 people.
A number of caterers are available, along with tables and chairs. For parties with fewer than 100 guests, call Carol at (630) 483-3135. For more than 100 guests, call Nancy at (630) 483-3015.
