Addison man dies in fire

A man died Tuesday night inside a motor home that was found in flames and parked in an Addison alley behind the 300 block of Addison Road.

The DuPage County Coroner has not released the official cause of death, and police are withholding the man's name pending notification of his family.

Addison Police Chief Timothy Hayden said police received a 911 call about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday reporting the fire, and rescue workers found the man inside once the blaze was extinguished.

No one knew the victim was inside, Hayden said, and arson units from Illinois, DuPage County and the Addison Police and Fire departments are investigating the cause of the blaze.

Police have interviewed neighbors about the fire, but Hayden said they've learned "nothing of value" from local residents.

The fire caused minor damage to overhead electrical wires in the alley, which sits behind a business and apartments near the intersection of Addison Road and Blecke Avenue. Nothing else sustained any damage.
