Cleary powers Red Wings' rally past Coyotes

Dan Cleary's power-play goal completed Detroit's third-period comeback, and Henrik Zetterberg had a goal and an assist to lift the host Red Wings past Phoenix.

Pavel Datsyuk also scored for NHL-leading Detroit, and Brian Rafalski had 2 assists. Chris Osgood made 24 saves.

Daniel Winnik, and Fredrik Sjostrom scored for Phoenix, and Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 36 shots.

Rangers 5, Senators 2: Brendan Shanahan scored 2 goals, and the host New York Rangers beat Ottawa, handing the Eastern Conference champion its sixth straight loss.

Henrik Lundqvist made 32 saves for his NHL-leading 14th win. Jaromir Jagr, Dan Girardi and Blair Betts also scored for New York, which led 3-0 in the first period and went up by 4 goals before Joe Corvo and Dany Heatley scored for Ottawa.

Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson each had 2 assists for the Senators, who are on their longest skid since they dropped seven straight from Feb. 22-March 9, 1996.

Martin Gerber, who beat the Rangers 2-0 on Oct. 6, made his 19th start of the season but was replaced by Ray Emery after allowing 3 goals on 12 first-period shots.

Maple Leafs 4, Penguins 2: Mark Bell and Jason Blake scored long-awaited goals, and Mats Sundin broke an 83-year-old record as host Toronto beat Pittsburgh.

Bell's goal was his first with the Maple Leafs. Blake hadn't scored since Oct. 18.

Sundin's assist on Bell's goal extended his point streak in home games from the start of the season to a club-record 15. Babe Dye's mark of 14 had stood since the 1924-25 season.

Lightning 4, Bruins 1: Vincent Lecavalier had 2 goals and an assist, helping host Tampa Bay stop a six-game skid by beating Boston.

Lecavalier's first goal of the game was the 250th in the NHL, coming in his 655th game. He has 16 goals and 39 points in 34 games against Boston.

Mathieu Darche and Martin St. Louis had the other goals for Tampa Bay.

Glen Murray scored for Boston, which lost for the second time in six games.

St. Louis extended the Lightning's advantage to 4-1 with his first goal in six games, scored at 6:13 of the third. Lecavalier set up the goal for his 300th NHL assist.

Thrashers 4, Islanders 0: Kari Lehtonen turned aside 33 shots in his first NHL appearance in six weeks, and Ilya Kovalchuk scored his NHL-leading 21st goal and added an assist in Atlanta's win against the host New York Islanders.

Lehtonen, who got his first shutout this season and eighth in his career, lost his first four decisions before being placed on injured reserve with a groin injury. He missed 16 games, dating to Oct. 18, before being recalled from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL earlier Saturday.

Eric Boulton, Marian Hossa, and Vyacheslav Kozlov also scored for Atlanta, which snapped a three-game losing streak.

Wade Dubielewicz made just his second start in net for the Islanders and stopped 26 shots. Dubielewicz subbed for Rick DiPietro, who had made 18 straight starts. New York hasn't scored more than 2 non-shootout goals in 12 games and is 5-6-1 in that span.

Sabres 8, Hurricanes 1: Ales Kotalik had 2 goals, and Jaroslav Spacek had a goal and two assists to lift host Buffalo over struggling Carolina.

Tim Connolly, Derek Roy and Maxim Afinogenov had a goal and assist each, and Adam Mair and Thomas Vanek also scored for the Sabres, who have won six of seven. Ryan Miller made 20 saves for Buffalo, which won for the fourth time in five home games.

Stars 4, Flyers 1: Jussi Jokinen, Antti Miettinen, and Mike Ribeiro scored second-period goals to lead Dallas over host Philadelphia.

Jeff Halpern also scored, and Trevor Daley and Brenden Morrow each had 2 assists for the Pacific Division leaders, who played tenacious defense in snapping a two-game losing streak.

Marty Turco had 17 saves for Dallas, which played its sixth game in nine days. The Stars had won six straight before losing at New Jersey and Pittsburgh.

Capitals 2, Panthers 1: Alex Ovechkin scored the go-ahead goal from a severe angle, Brent Johnson stopped 24 shots and Washington snapped a three-game skid by beating host Florida.

Brian Pothier also scored for Washington, which lost its first three games against Florida this season by a total of 3 goals.

Predators 5, Canadiens 4 (SO): Radek Bonk and Martin Erat scored in the shootout after Nashville erased a 3-goal deficit in the third period en route to beating host Montreal

Bonk, who tied the game with 46.8 seconds remaining in regulation, put a shot through Cristobal Huet's pads on Nashville's first shot. Erat put a shot over Huet's glove to convert the Predators' second attempt.
