Search continues for man who robbed Bensenville bank

Bensenville, DuPage County and federal authorities are investigating a bank robbery this morning in Bensenville.

The robbery happened just after 11 a.m. when a man entered the Chase Bank at 133 W. Grand Ave. and handed a note to a teller, according to a statement released by village spokeswoman Linda Dickson.

Even though the man never displayed a weapon, the note indicated he had a gun and demanded money. He fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Bensenville police were notified and called in canine units from the DuPage and Cook County sheriff's offices. Police couldn't locate the suspect.

The offender is described as being 25 to 30 years old and standing 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and a black and white bandana that covered his hair.

FBI officials said they haven't determined if the robbery is connected to any others in the area.

Anyone with information should call Bensenville police at (630)350-3455.
