Addison man charged in Villa Park shooting

An Addison man was arrested after a shooting late Thursday night along North Avenue in Villa Park, authorities said Friday.

Police said they were called to 893 W. North Ave. around 10:30 p.m. for a report of a 17-year-old boy who had been shot in the neck. They were told the suspect left the area in a car with at least one other person, according to reports.

Based on a description of the suspect and the car, Villa Park police and officers from several other agencies found the suspect later that evening at a Lombard home, authorities said.

Dale L. Flagg, 18, of 948 College Blvd., Addison, was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a firearm without a firearm owner's identification card.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

Flagg remained in DuPage County jail Friday.
