Briefs: Lisle ready to celebrate
Lisle rings in the holiday season with a weekend full of activities. The Santa Parade heralds St. Nick's arrival in town at 3 p.m. Saturday and delivers him to Once Upon A Christmas, which celebrates with 1800s-style activities from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Museums of Lisle Station Park, 921 School St., Lisle lights up with more than 6,000 luminarias at dusk in anticipation of the annual tree-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Saturday at village hall, 925 Burlington Ave. For details, call (630) 968-0499.
Donation for Red Cross
First Student, the former Laidlaw Bus Co. that provides transportation for students and has offices in Naperville, donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross for relief efforts after the recent California wildfires. In addition, First Student provided vehicles for emergency transportation of hospital and convalescent patients who were victims of the fires.
