Esikiel, Enno power Streamwood to win

Tem Esikiel scored 21 points and T.J. Enno poured in 18 as Streamwood (2-2) held off Maine South 57-55 Tuesday night in nonconference boys basketball action in Park Ridge.

Ryan Kiesel added 10 points for the Sabres, who had only five players score in the game.

Girls basketball

U-High 61, Elgin Academy 33: Allison Clark and Alysa Pena each had 7 points for Elgin Academy (2-4, 0-1) in this Independent School League loss.

Oregon 48, Burlington Central 43: The Rockets (4-3) carried a 23-18 lead into halftime but couldn't sustain it in the second half, falling to Oregon in a nonconference game. Jordan Maisto and Cory Bazany each had 13 points for BC and Melanie Laird added 11.

Maine East 53, Streamwood 45: Despite taking a 28-23 lead into the second half, Streamwood (0-5) dropped this nonconference contest. Krissy Kunavich led the Sabre offense with 15 points. Melissa Oehlerking contributed with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

Boys basketball

Lake Forest Academy 84, Elgin Academy 43: Cory Ebert led Elgin Academy (1-3, 0-1) with 13 points in this Independent School League loss.

Women's basketball

ECC 69, Wright 41: Angelia Gafford scored 19 points and Meaghan Staley-Gamble added 14 as Elgin Community College (3-3) won this nonconference game. Ariana Topps added 12 points for the Spartans.
