Blues blank Flames; Stars, Ducks win

Blues 3 Flames 0: Manny Legace stopped 24 shots and Jamal Mayers scored 2 goals to lead host St. Louis to a victory over Calgary. Mayers' goal 27 seconds after the opening faceoff was all the Blues needed for their sixth win in seven games. They have outscored their opponents 17-9 in the wins. Mayers added a shorthanded goal into an empty net at 17:24 of the third. Calgary had pulled goalie Curtis McElhinney to get a 6-on-4 advantage after the Blues were called for having too many men on the ice.

Stars 3, Rangers 2: Brenden Morrow's power-play goal early in the third period lifted host Dallas to a victory over the New York Rangers and stretched the Stars' winning streak to five games. Despite being outshot 41-18, the Stars used a sizzling power play to win the first of a six-game road trip that will take them to all five teams in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division.

Loui Eriksson scored his first of the season, on the power play, to tie it in the second after Jussi Jokinen got the Stars even at 1 in the opening period. Jaromir Jagr snapped out of a slump with a goal, and Brendan Shanahan also scored for the Rangers. Mike Smith, starting over Marty Turco for the fourth time in five games, made 39 saves for the Stars -- 5-0-1 since general manager Doug Armstrong and team president Jim Lites were fired.

Ducks 3, Kings 2: Ryan Getzlaf and Chris Kunitz scored third period goals and host Anaheim rallied for a victory over Los Angeles. With the Ducks trailing 2-1, Getzlaf shifted to his backhand to whisk the puck past Kings goalie Jason LaBarbera for his second goal of the game to draw the Ducks even with 11:58 to play. Kunitz then swiped in a rebound with 3:06 remaining, giving the Ducks the lead after both Corey Perry and Todd Bertuzzi hit the post with shots. The Kings had an extended 5-on-3 power play in the final minute, but could not beat Ducks goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere (23 saves).

Kyle Calder and Dustin Brown scored first period goals to give the Kings an early advantage before the Ducks rallied to end a two-game losing streak.
