Vernon Hills' boys basketball team suffered its second loss in as many nights Tuesday.

Northridge Prep defeated the visiting Cougars 38-26.

Chris Morgan led Vernon Hills with 10 points. Kenny Rideout had 7.

Barrington 48, Carmel 33: At Mundelein, Barrington evened its record at 1-1, while Carmel fell to 1-1.

Loyola 70, Round Lake 41: At Mundelein, Loyola improved to 2-0, while Round Lake fell to 0-2.
