Darrow leads Broncos' quick rebound

Barrington didn't have much time to dwell on a 41-point loss to open the season.

And the Broncos didn't stay down for long as they rebounded with a 48-33 win over Carmel in Tuesday's second round of the Mundelein boys basketball tournament.

Junior Mack Darrow scored 15 points and classmate Brian Sullivan added 11 points for the Broncos (1-1), who play Loyola at 6 p.m. Friday.

Leyden 69, W. Chicago 56: Leyden (1-1) junior Deron Guyton scored 18 points to give Bill Heisler his first varsity head coaching victory in the Marmion tournament.

Joe Natale added 10 points for the Eagles.

Driscoll 52, Maine West 49: The long-range shooting of Jimmy Orlowski and Adis Kadiric wasn't enough for Maine West (0-2) to overcome the inside-outside game of Driscoll's Jake Lindfors in the Lisle tournament.

Orlowski scored 19 points and hit five 3-pointers and Kadiric added 12 points and two 3s. But the Albany-bound Lindfors hit three 3s en route to a game-high 24 points.
