Adopt penguin to help food pantry
Millie's Hallmark Gold Crown, Neat 'n' Cool Gifts and the Mount Prospect Human Services Department are teaming up to help fill the village's emergency food pantry shelves.
Bob Dooley and Bill Reddy, owners of Millie's Hallmark and Neat n Cool Gifts, are offering the plushy penguins in their holiday windows for adoption to raise money for the food pantry.
The penguins, made by Ty Plush products, are $30 each for the "adult" and $10 each for the "babies." All of the proceeds will be donated to the Mount Prospect Emergency Food Pantry.
There are a limited number of penguins available. To reserve one, stop by Millie's Hallmark at 1024 S. Elmhurst Road or Neat n Cool Gifts at 113 W. Central Road, before Dec. 14. They will be available to be taken home from noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 24.
