Three charged in 2006 slaying
Three Elgin men have been arrested in the roughly year-old slaying of a man found shot to death in his car in Streamwood, authorities said today.
Adrian Pesina, 23, faces first-degree murder and concealment of a homicide charges in the death of 29-year-old Juan Fernandez, Elgin and Streamwood police said in a statement.
Two others, Edgar Juarez, and Martin Zavala, both 19, are accused of concealment of a homicide in the death of Fernandez, also of Elgin, police said.
On Sept. 17, 2006, Fernandez was found shot in the neck in the passenger's seat of his new car on Route 59 south of Bode Road.
The charges, filed in Kane County, are the result of a joint investigation by Elgin and Streamwood police and the area's major case assistance team.
Bond for Pesina, of the 400 block of Center Street, was set at $1 million. Juarez, of the 600 block of St. John Street, had a bond set at $400,000. Bond for Zavala, also of the 400 block of Center Street, was set at $10,000.
The three are due in court again Nov. 30.
