Parker, Vols cruise in celebration

Candace Parker scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds as top-ranked host Tennessee (3-0) beat No. 21 Texas (2-1).

The win came on the same day that the Lady Vols celebrated their 2006-07 national championship by hoisting a banner honoring their seventh title to the rafters of Thompson-Boling Arena.

Maryland 75, LSU 62: Kristi Toliver scored 23 points to help No. 3 host Maryland (5-0) beat No. 4 LSU in the Preseason WNIT championship.

Sylvia Fowles had 24 points and 13 rebounds for LSU (3-1).

Stanford 81, Utah 77 (2 OTs): Jayne Appel scored 4 of her 30 points early in the second overtime as No. 5 Stanford (3-0) held off Utah (1-1).

Illinois 63, SIU 53: Jenna Smith poured in 32 points to lead host Illinois (3-1) past Southern Illinois (1-2). Jayme Sweere led the Salukis with 15 points.
