Don't make cuts at convalescent center

I'm the president of the Resident Council at the DuPage County Convalescent Center.

The convalescent center has many different types of residents from young to old, strong to weak, different races, ancestry and religions. The majority of our residents never planned on being at the convalescent center but they and their families are thanking God that the center was there when they needed it, and are assuming and hoping it will be there for them in the future.

The DuPage County government has proposed cutting funding to the convalescent center to help with the county's budget deficit. Cutting any funding for the convalescent center would be cruel to its residents and an embarrassment to the county as a whole.

We need to find a way to become health-care leaders in DuPage County and try set an example to the rest of the state on how we will deal with the inevitable rise in the need for health-care assistance due to the aging baby-boomers.

Please support the DuPage County Convalescent Center and do not cut any funding today or in the future.
