Gamers to donate to 'Food Machine'

Games Plus, 101 W. Prospect Ave., Mount Prospect, will be hosting a special food drive event for Mount Prospect based United Relief Foundation's Lifeline Initiative Stock the Shelves at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The "Food Machine" event will feature the game playing of Warmachine/Hordes Harvest Thralls designed to be fun for all ages and new players as well as challenging for experienced game players.

In the Games Plus "Food Machine" tourney, players get additional bonuses based on the amount of items they bring for donations. These additional bonuses will enhance the players abilities like shooting farther and moving along in the game. Spectators are encouraged to make a food donation of canned fruit, canned meat, cereals, coffee and tea, disposable diapers, dry beans, mashed potatoes, paper goods, pancake mix and syrup, peanut butter and jelly and rice. Do not bring pasta, baby food, dented or damaged items. Also, check the expiration dates.

The Mount Prospect Food Pantry is administered by the village of Mount Prospect's Human Services Department and direct donations to the Food Pantry, located at 50 South Emerson St., are encouraged.
