Folk singer to perform at church Saturday

Off Square Music will present Chuck Suchy and Chris Walz at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Congregational Unitarian Church, 221 Dean St., Woodstock.

Suchy, a North Dakota folk singer, songwriter, storyteller and working farmer sings songs and tells stories that honor the richness and struggle of rural life. His warm voice evokes the Great Plaines as he accompanies himself on guitar and accordion.

Walz plays guitar and sings lead, tenor and baritone vocals. He began playing guitar at age 15 and has been active in the Chicago bluegrass music scene since 1988.

Walz has toured throughout the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland, and performs with Weavermania. He teaches at the Old Town School of Folk Music.
