• Children's Bingo at 11 a.m. Nov. 21 for children ages 3-14. Children age 5 and under should be accompanied by an adult or older sibling. No registration necessary.

Featured for the month of November is the rocket collection of Andrew Culbertson. His collection includes rockets with engines of different power and one of the space shuttles. Andrew and his dad have a launch pad from which they can send up their rockets.
• The family Read-Aloud Book Club now through April 9. Families who register will keep track of their time spent reading and earn special reading rewards and entries into prize drawings at the same time. Receive your family book log and details during registration at the ASK ME Desk.

• The library will close at 5 p.m. Nov. 21 and reopen at 9 a.m. Nov. 23 in observance of Thanksgiving.
• Holiday Craft Workshop: from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Children younger than 7 are welcome if a parent remains to help.
• Gingerbread House Workshop for children from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 8. These workshops are for older children, but those younger than 7 are welcome if a parent remains to help. Please register.
Adult and family
Batavia:
Members of the Batavia Artists' Guild will present a Fine Art Exhibit and Sale at the Batavia Public Library from Friday through Sunday. The public is invited to attend the complementary Artists' Reception hosted by the Batavia Public Library and the Guild on Friday, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Cake, punch, and light refreshments will be served. The exhibit and sale will also be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The exhibit will include over 65 original framed paintings and artworks, numerous original handmade pottery pieces, and matted original artwork, note cards, and smaller pieces by local artists.
• Anime/Manga club meets Nov. 28 for teens 13 and older who are interested in anime, a style of animation that originated in Japan, and manga, a style of comics. No registration required.
• Author of the Elm Creek Quilts series, Jennifer Chiaverini, will speak at 7 p.m. Monday. She will sign copies of her books including "The new Year's Quilt," due to be released in November. Tickets are required and are available by calling the Library Reference Desk. (630) 879-4777.
• "Making a Gingerbread House" at 7 p.m. Nov. 29. An edible gingerbread house will be constructed. Receive step by step instructions and recipes, sip hot chocolate, take home holiday treats and win door prizes. This is a family event. Presenter Michael Niksic is a master chef and has appeared on TV and in national magazines.

St. Charles:
On display for the month of November in the lobby is the Glass Artistry of David Stevens.
• St. Charles Writers group meets at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28. The group will discuss "Clean up your Writing! Part 3." Moderator Richard Holinger leads the group that is designed for fledgling and experienced writers ages 18 or older.
• The Great Decisions program, 7 p.m. today in the lower level meeting room of the St. Charles Library. The issue to sponsored by the Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles public libraries is intended to stimulate a discussion of foreign policy issues. The issue to be discussed is "Helping the World's Endangered Children." If you want to participate you will need to request a copy of the Great Decisions guide at the adult information services desk before the discussion.

Road Scholar, Illinois Humanities Council Grant program, Introduction to Irish Music with Bryan Kelso Crow, from 1-3 p.m. Monday. Brian Kelso Crow has been playing and singing Irish traditional music for over two decades as a member of the Dorians. His public radio music program. "Celtic Connections" is syndicated on nearly 100 stations in 23 states. Registration is not necessary.
