Briefs: Roadblock for hopefuls

The petitions of several candidates running in the Feb. 5 primary will face scrutiny. Tuesday was the final day to file objections with the DuPage Election Commission. Officials reported that objections were submitted concerning the documents of two DuPage County Board candidates -- Republicans Steven Nero, who is running in District 3, and Michael Soldwisch, who is campaigning for a District 2 seat. Objections also were filed to a Democratic Addison Township committeeman's papers. All objections are subject to a hearing by the board of elections.
