Streamwood High grad to vie for Miss Illinois title

• Ashley Bond, 23, formerly of Streamwood, will compete for the title of Miss Illinois U.S.A. Nov. 16-18 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago.

She is the daughter of Michael Bond, Kelly (Reynolds) Patten and Steve Patten. She attended Hanover Countryside Elementary School, Canton Middle School, and Streamwood High School.

Bond was an active member in the Streamwood Falcons as both a cheerleader and cheerleading coach. She was a member of the Sabrettes, National Honors Society, and Class Council. A 2002 SHS graduate, Bond received a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Bond is a personal fitness trainer and professional dancer for the Chicago Luvabulls.

• Chantel Valencia, 17, of Hoffman Estates will compete for the title of Miss Illinois Teen U.S.A. Nov. 16-18 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago.

She is the daughter of Angela Valencia. Valencia attends Barrington High School, and her activities and hobbies include dancing, singing, playing guitar, wakeboarding, snowboarding, inline skating, attending concerts, reading, churchgoing, and traveling.

Valencia is a volunteer for Best Buddies, Habitat for Humanity, and has completed eight hours of Make A Wish training. She plans to attend Florida Southern College.
