Red Wings win 9th straight game

DETROIT -- Tomas Holmstrom broke a second-period tie with a power-play goal, and Dominik Hasek made 15 saves to help the Detroit Red Wings win their ninth straight game, 4-1 over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night.

Henrik Zetterberg scored his 13th goal of the season with 1:28 left to extend his season-opening points streak to 16 games, the longest in team history. Brett Lebda and Dan Cleary also scored, and Mikael Samuelsson had two assists.

Rick Nash scored for Columbus, and Pascal Leclaire stopped 32 shots.

Nash tied it at 1 early in the second period on a 5-on-3 power play, scoring his 11th goal of the season off a goal-mouth scramble.

Holmstrom's power-play goal with 6:07 left in the period put the Red Wings ahead for the second time. He stuffed in a loose puck for his ninth goal.
