Families
The Community Congregational Church of Elburn hosts a harvest dinner and concert Nov. 17 at the church, 100 E. Shannon St.
The dinner is from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The duo Kenned and Carl will perform Broadway music at 7 p.m. The performers, Kenned Maclver and Carl DiSanto, have performed together for 18 years in Chicago area venues. They each began their careers as musical and stage actors in New York and Chicago, having performed at Drury Lane, the Goodman Theater and other Chicago theatres.
Tickets are $10 each for the dinner and concert. Tickets may be reserved online at www.ccc-elburn.org or by calling the church office at (630) 365-0163. All proceeds go to support the missions of the Elburn Community Congregational Church.
Women
"Preparing Our Hearts for Christmas" will be presented by the Women's Ministries of Lord of Life Church from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 26. The church is at Route 38 and LaFox Road, three miles west of Randall Road in LaFox.
Speaker Gail Ficken will discuss "The Perfect Tree." Music will be sung by Georgie Elkin, Patty Hudson, and Christina Peters. The evening will also feature a Christmas craft and holiday desserts.
Cost is $5 paid at the door. Reservations are requested and can be made online at www.lolchurch.net, or call the church office at (630) 513-5325, ext. 34.
Mothers
Mothers at the Well will meet from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 30 at St. Patrick Church, 6N491 Crane Road in St. Charles.
Jane Englund will present "Preparing our Hearts and Homes for Christmas."
Englund draws on her experience as a wife and mother, as well as her evangelical faith, to inspire and motivate women of all ages. She will share ideas on how to prepare your heart, the hearts of your family and your home in the midst of the Christmas rush. The presentation will offer ideas for Christmas traditions and organizational and decorating tips.
