Wildcats find Trzyna's stress fracture to be good-luck charm

Against Maine South, Libertyville played so well that there were frequent occasions where the bench would stand up after big points. Senior Ali Haws, who had a match-high 9 kills and 7 blocks, once tapped coach Chris Trzyna on the shoulder in excitement.

Trzyna has a stress fracture in her foot and she almost fell over. The exchange lightened the mood and helped the Wildcats continue to play relaxed.

"I didn't notice the stress facture during (the match)," Trzyna said. "I had too much adrenaline flowing to let it bother me."

The Libertyville girls seem to think Trzyna's stress fracture is a good-luck charm. On the bus ride home from Hersey, the girls chanted "stress fracture, stress fracture."

If Libertyville plays at the same level in Normal that it did against Maine South, Trzyna will continue to feel no pain.
