Isn't it about time to speak English?

Regarding the front-page story of the hazardous living conditions and health worries of the people in the old Kerr-McGee neighborhood. (Daily Herald Nov. 5).

The dangers of the contaminated dirt certainly should have been explained to the homeowners, and I feel really badly for them. The dangers of the radioactive site should certainly have been questioned.

I also think the homeowners should have done more research before living there.

However, I think you must have made a typo with the Olivia Reza story. You wrote she has lived here 17 years but is speaking to you in Spanish. I don't believe anyone who has lived in a country 17 years has not bothered to learn the language.

Maybe you meant 17 weeks or 17 months.
