Searching for burglary clues

Lisle police are searching for clues in a string of residential burglaries in the area north of Ogden Avenue and east of Naper Boulevard.

Two break-ins were reported after 8 p.m. Friday near Ridgeland Avenue and Fender Road, police said Tuesday.

Police would not say what was taken because of fears it would harm their investigation.

A third burglary occurred between 1 and 3 p.m. Monday in the same area.

There also were two attempted burglaries Monday in which intruders apparently cut or damaged screen doors but didn't make it inside, Sgt. Ron Wilke said.

"We don't know why they didn't go in," he said. "Nothing was taken."

No injuries have been reported, and no one was home during any of the burglaries, Wilke said.

Police believe the same person or people are responsible for all the incidents because the targeted homes all are within a few blocks of each other.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (630) 271-4200.
