Try out Fitness Center in Cary
The Cary Park District invites visitors to try out the Fitness Center for one week.
Amenities include free machine orientation, state-of-the-art cardiovascular machines, free weights, strength equipment, locker rooms, showers and dry sauna.
Personal training, childcare, racquetball and group fitness classes are available for an additional fee.
The free week offer is valid through Nov. 30.

NISRA to hold extravaganza
Ring in the holidays with the Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association's Foundation's 12th annual Holiday Fashion Show Extravaganza which is scheduled for Nov. 17 at the Conference Centre, 2401 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates.
Doors open at 10 a.m., luncheon is at noon and the fashion show begins at 1:45 p.m.
This annual event raises funds for NISRA day camp scholarships, local Special Olympics training, and capital expenses such as replacement of accessible buses. A cooperative of 12 park districts and cities, NISRA provides year round recreation activities including Special Olympics for residents with disabilities
This popular event features a delicious lunch, fashion show, silent auction and opportunities to win a fully decorated tree and other items. Each tree and its theme-related gifts is valued at more than $2,000 thanks to the generous support of local sponsors.
The event is expected to sell out quickly. Tickets are $40 each, or $50 for premier seats closer to the runway.
