Come one, come all to Schaumburg's business expo 2007
An opportunity for community networking and the chance to sample fine food awaits Schaumburg-area businesses and residents at the Schaumburg Business Association's Expo 2007.
For the second year in a row, the expo will be held at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center on Thoreau Drive from 2 to 7 p.m. Nov. 14.
The entire event is free and open to the public.
New this year will be the "Taste of Schaumburg" from 5 to 7 p.m.
If you're used to most "Taste of …" events being under the beating sun of summer and having to fight off bees, this will be a chance for local restaurants to show off their culinary skills in a more dignified setting.
About 3,000 attendees are expected at this year's event, making it an excellent place as well for businesses to showcase their products and services and meet new customers.
Even if you're just a resident with no business of your own, the expo is an excellent place to find out everything the Schaumburg area has to offer.

Indian celebration: UTSAV, an organization celebrating the culture and heritage of India, will hold its annual gala at 7 p.m. Saturday at India House Restaurant, 1521 W. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg.
The public can purchase tickets for the event for $55, which includes dinner, an open bar and entertainment.
UTSAV was started by a small group of women of Indian origin in the Chicago area, but has expanded to a group of almost 500 participants and guests.
Members also hope to grow from a purely cultural organization into a philanthropic one in the near future.

Elves at Woodfield: Six of the actors who play the elves in the new movie "Fred Claus" starring Vince Vaughn and Paul Giamatti as Santa Claus will be visiting Woodfield Shopping Center from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
In their movie costumes, the actors will greet kids and families in the center court of Woodfield, where a "Fred Claus" Interactive Snow Globe Exhibit will be.
The exhibit includes a 20-foot walk-through snow globe where a cold winter blast and falling snow will welcome visitors to the North Pole.
Inside, visitors can interact with life-sized sculptures of characters from the film and enjoy music and three-dimensional scenes from the film.
A "green screen" photo experience will offer a chance to have one's photo taken in the North Pole with "Fred Claus" characters, or just the traditional visit and photo with Santa Claus.
