Herald's job is to report real news

It was very disappointing, to say the least, seeing an above-the-fold story on Sherri Shepherd on the front page. Since when is entertainment this important? This story would have been appropriate on either the back page or your "arts and entertainment" section.

At least the much more important story of the fatal crash involving the DUI teenager getting four years was above that story. I fail to see the similarity of importance of these two stories to warrant the front page.

Since when is "The View" given so much credibility? Based on its incredible diversity of intelligence and penetrating grasp of the issues affecting America? To give this insipid celebrity show this much press is the reason so many Americans fail to identify the vice president but quickly name the latest antics of Paris Hilton or Britney Spears.

Until we become more concerned with real news than constantly being entertained, the U.S. will continue in its quest for mediocrity. The Herald needs to stop pandering to this.
