All your entertainment needs at one 'Station'
Whole-house, in-wall entertainment units that integrate audio and video systems and bring music and movies to every room aren't just for high-end home buyers anymore. Sony WallStation has made this feature affordable, and Gerstad Builders has made it available at Liberty Trails.
Gerstad Builders' Liberty Trails community in McHenry offers 1,693- to 3,177-square-foot homes base priced from $257,990 to $349,990. And, if home buyers desire, the Sony WallStation can be built into any of Liberty Trails' semi-custom homes.
The WallStation line of in-wall entertainment units bring together stereo and home theater systems in an affordable fashion, while homes are under construction. The secret: systems are installed at the same time as a home's structured wiring, thus significantly reducing installation costs.
The WallStation's audio system features a CD player, AM/FM tuner, intercom, room monitor, integrated remote control, and home networking capability to access MP3 files on a personal computer. Its video system swaps a DVD/CD player for the audio system's CD player. Sony WallStation can even integrate up to four entrance way doorbell intercoms, electronic door releases and an external chime.
The systems are developed with a sleek, space-saving design that fits any decor. For added customization, homeowners can purchase customizable center and side plates to match the room's furnishings. And, because the units are installed in-wall during construction, all unsightly wiring is hidden out of the homeowner's way.
Costs include wiring and installation of both the system and in-wall speaker systems that blend right into room, and range in the neighborhood of $1,485 per room outfitted with the audio system, and $2,770 per room equipped with the video system. All systems are installed by Berthoud Enterprises in Johnsburg.
In addition to the Sony Wall Station, home buyers can also customize their homes with skylights, three-car garages, wood-burning fireplaces, imported ceramic tile, hardwood flooring and English or walkout basements. Standard features found in Liberty Trails' ranch and two-story homes include Kohler fixtures, vaulted ceilings, nine-foot first floor ceilings, three to five bedrooms, two to three baths, living room, formal dining room, family room, professionally designed kitchen with 42-inch upper cabinets with crown molding, breakfast area, basement, low-E glass and complete GE appliance package.
Liberty Trails' sales center is on Lincoln Road, about one mile west of Chapel Hill Road and north of Route 120. Models are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information, call (815) 385-4495, or visit www.gerstadbuilders.com.
