A double standard for government
Does anyone else find it strange that the government will say to ComEd, "You can't raise rates," but then will turn around and raise taxes?
The CTA needs more money to continue operating, but ComEd needs to fix their infrastructure without getting more money. Why is it that we are willing to give more money to government when they have never been able to do anything cost effectively, but say to private enterprise that they need to do more with less?
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against government saying to ComEd, "Tighten your belt," but why won't the state (or Cook County) do the same thing?
