Gas station employee facing charges
A Mundelein gas station employee was arrested after police say he hid a video camera in a women's gas station bathroom.
Julio C. Gomez-Valerio, 37, 950 Cherry Valley Road, Apt. 207, Vernon Hills, was charged with felony unauthorized video recording on Oct. 14 after police say he hid a video camera in a women's restroom at Shell gas station, 2250 S. Route 83, a police report said.
A woman using the bathroom found the camera and contacted police. She was the only person on that particular tape, but police do not know if there were other instances, Mundelein police said.
Gomez-Valerio has been fired from his job at Shell, officials said.
He is currently free on bond. His next court date is on Nov. 5.
