Crash near Elburn injures three

Three people were injured Saturday in a nearly head-on crash between a pick-up truck and a semi-tractor trailer near Elburn.

It appeared Annette M. Theobald, 47, of 46W682 Elm St., Elburn was driving west on Main Street east of Green Road on Saturday afternoon when she crossed the center line, said Lt. Pat Gengler, public information officer for the Kane County Sheriff's Department.

Theobald's pick-up then hit the truck in a head-on and sideswiping manner, ultimately pinning her in the truck by her foot, Gengler said. She had to be extricated and was taken along with her two children, ages 6 and 7, to Delnor-Community Hospital with minor injuries, he said.

The driver of the semi-tractor trailer, Jarred R. Herrmann, 3759 N. Sleepy Hollow Road, Earlville, reportedly was not injured.
