Conant's Wright commits to Arkansas

Conant senior pitcher Austin Wright has made a verbal commitment to play baseball at Arkansas.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound left-hander, who is the second-ranked senior prospect in the state by Prep Baseball Report, was a Daily Herald All-Area pick as sophomore with a 6-2 record, 2.48 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 48 innings.

Last year, the hard-throwing Wright was 3-4 with a 3.15 ERA, 68 strikeouts and 40 walks in 40 innings. He also pitched in the prestigious Aflac All-American Classic and Area Code Games for the nation's top seniors.
