Police investigate school gun rumor

A rumor about a student threatening to bring a gun to school prompted police to investigate a Prospect Heights High School student Sunday.

Mount Prospect police spoke with a student regarding the rumor, but no charges have been filed and the student was released, police said.

The incident continues to be under investigation and school officials are aware of the situation, police said.
